(More customer reviews)I purchased the 7D and kit for about the same price as I could get the camera alone elsewhere, however after receiving the kit I would recommend not wasting your time with it. The camera is great, but it did not include the warranty card. The DVD asked me if I lived in Asia or Oceania (these were the only 2 choices), so this is obviously not a US model. I called Canon and they said that Sunset Electronics is not an authorized dealer.
The kit was supposed to include a digital flash, but it was missing. The bright spot in this purchase was that when I contacted amazon regarding the flash (there was no option to contact the seller directly), they allowed me to either return the kit OR purchase ANY flash and they would reimburse me. I asked again....ANY flash? And they said yes. SO, I purchased the 580EX for $400+ and amazon refunded the purchase. So basically I got the 7D body and 580 flash for $1539.
The rest of the kit is pretty much useless. The batteries power the camera, but they cant be read by the camera and they cant use the canon charger. So if you want to know how much battery you have left, the camera is unable to show you. Plus you have to carry 2 separate chargers with you.
The tripod is fine for a small camera, but not stable enough for the 7D with a big honking lens. The camera bag isnt even big enough to hold the flash, let alone a camera and lens. The only things I use are the CF card and the card reader (which is only useable now that I've straightened the bent pins).
